Trekking in Everest
The Everest Base Camp Trek is a famous challenging trek in the Khumbu region in Nepal. This Everest Base Camp trek is starting and ending at Lukla.
Lukla is the entering points to the Everest Region for those who will be flying in.
A typical Everest Base Camp Trek leads us through high valleys, traditional villages and spectacular mountains which include the World's Highest Heritage "Sagarmatha National Park" including Namche Bazzar, which is recognized as Khumbu's Sherpa Capital.
This trek can be started from Shivalaya or Jiri or from Kathmandu to Lukla flight and trek. Flying to Lukla to start a trek is a popular route more so than the driving to Jiri from Kathmandu and starting trek from there.
If you have time, one way to beat the crowds is to walk in from Shivalaya or Jiri and fly out from Lukla to Kathmandu also.
Upon your trek be sure to schedule acclimatization days at Namche and Pheriche to avoid altitude sickness.
The trek reaches the highest point at Kalapathar(5545m), a small peak offering superb views of Mount Everest and other Himalaya mountains. You can schedule your trekking plan yourself considering your time available.
You will visit Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung and Tengboche Monastery during your trek. You will encounter with panoramic views of Ama Dabla, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse.
